With a profound connection to the mystical landscapes of Sedona, Arizona, Peter’s journey into music began after a series of life-changing experiences—hearing the ethereal music of angels while meditating deep within the forest and canyons of Sedona. These divine encounter’s led him to embrace the harp as his instrument of choice, channeling music that transcends the ordinary and resonates with listeners on a deeply spiritual level.
Peter Sterling’s musical artistry has been widely recognized. His album Harp Dreams went to #1 for 8 weeks on the ZMR Top 100 international radio chart and received a nominations for Best New Age album in 2005. In 2007 Peter signed on with the prestigious new age label Real Music to release his Shadow, Mist and Light album. His self-released 2008 effort, The Sands of Time, earned a nomination for a Hollywood Music Award for Best New Age Album. His 2012 release, Patterns of Reflection, soared to #1 on the ZMR Top 100 International Radio Chart and was also nominated for New Age Album of the Year. The following year, Twilight Serenade ascended to the #1 position on the ZMR Chart, while the track “Isle of Light” earned a bronze medal in the Global Music Awards for 2016. In 2017, the album Sacred Visions climbed to #3 on the ZMR and won a Silver Global Music Award in the new age category.
The accolades continued with the 2021 album Sanctuary of Light, which won the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best New Age Album, along with the Silver COVR Visionary Music Award. In 2022 his release The Winding Way secured the Gold COVR Visionary Music Award for Best New Age Album of the year, further cementing Peter Sterling’s status as a leading figure in the New Age music genre. His most recent album, Mystic Voyager, has garnered critical acclaim, winning the Best Contemporary Instrumental Song at the Intercontinental Music Awards as well as winning Best New Age Album at the COVR Visionary Music Awards for 2024.
Peter’s creativity extends beyond music. His music video for the song “The Long Cold Winter” from Mystic Voyager, a song of hope and courage inspired by the war in Ukraine, won numerous awards at international film festivals, including Best Music Video at the Los Angeles Cinematography Awards, European Cinematography Awards, and the Swedish International Film Festival, among others. His animated short film Peter and the Magic Harp based on his children’s book of the same name was an official selection for the Moscow Children’s Film Festival and the CMS International Children’s Film Fest in Lucknow, India.
Peter Sterling is also an accomplished visual artist. His work includes gem and crystal-embellished stained glass windows, a stunning collection of landscape photography of Sedona titled Sedona Crystal Visions, and his kaleidoscopic Crystal Alchemy Portals of Light. These creations are featured in galleries across Sedona and are sought after by collectors worldwide.
